NEW YORK — The NFL has announced that the Week 9 game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings has been rescheduled for prime time, which also leads to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles being shifted to an afternoon slot. This adjustment is part of the league’s flexible scheduling initiative.
Fans can look forward to the Colts and Vikings matchup airing on NBC’s Sunday night program on November 3. This game is noteworthy as it marks a rematch of a historic encounter in 2022 when the Vikings achieved an NFL milestone by staging the largest comeback in league history, overturning a 33-0 deficit at halftime to win 39-36 against the Colts.
As it stands, the Colts, currently with a record of 4-3, are also set to appear on Sunday night in Week 11 against the New York Jets. On the other hand, the Vikings have not previously been scheduled for any other Sunday night games this season, following a disappointing 7-10 performance last year.
The Vikings are currently tied for the top record in the NFC at 5-1. In addition to their upcoming prime time game against the Colts, they have at least two more scheduled appearances under the bright lights: one this Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams and another on December 16 for a Monday night clash with the Chicago Bears.
The matchup between the Jaguars and the Eagles carries additional storyline intrigue, as current Jaguars coach Doug Pederson faces off against his former team, the Eagles, with whom he secured a Super Bowl victory following the 2017 season. The Jaguars are struggling this season with a 2-5 record, while the Eagles boast a more favorable 4-2 record.
