ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, Will Levis, will not be playing due to an injury affecting his throwing shoulder. Consequently, backup Mason Rudolph will take the lead against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday.

Levis has been dealing with an AC joint injury in his right shoulder and was deemed questionable for the game after being limited in two of his three practice sessions during the week. The second-year quarterback had a challenging outing last week, where he recorded a career-low of 95 passing yards in a narrow 20-17 defeat against the Indianapolis Colts.

It remains uncertain if Levis aggravated his shoulder injury during practice earlier this week, and his timeline for return is currently unknown.

So far this season, Levis has faced difficulties, having lost all four games that he started and completed. He is still adapting to a new offensive system under first-year head coach Brian Callahan. To date, he has thrown five touchdowns but has also led the league with seven interceptions and has lost three fumbles.

This game will mark Rudolph’s first start and second appearance for the Titans after stepping in for Levis during a 31-12 victory against the Miami Dolphins on September 30. The 29-year-old quarterback carries an 8-4-1 record for his career, having spent six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to joining Tennessee.

In response to the quarterback situation, the Titans have promoted Trevor Siemian from the practice squad to serve as the backup for this matchup.

The Titans, currently sitting at a record of 1-4 this season, will also be without receiver Treylon Burks, who has been placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury sustained in practice. Additionally, starting cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is missing the game due to a quadriceps injury.

On the other hand, the Buffalo Bills (4-2) will be welcoming receiver Amari Cooper, who is set to make his debut with the team after being acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Browns this past Tuesday.
