GREENSBORO, N.C. — In an impressive display of football, Hampton University dominated North Carolina A&T with a decisive 59-17 victory on Saturday, marking the Aggies’ fifth consecutive defeat.

Ja’Quan Snipes showcased his skills by scoring two rushing touchdowns, while teammates Tymere Robinson and Donovan Shepard also contributed with their own touchdown runs. The most remarkable moment came in the fourth quarter when the Pirates managed to score three touchdowns in under a minute. After a scoring drive, Hampton’s kickoff landed in the end zone, where returner Cortez Lane mishandled the ball and left it unattended. The alert Pirates seized the opportunity, recovering the fumble for another touchdown.

On the very next series for the Aggies, Tre Everett III intercepted a screen pass, sprinting 11 yards to the end zone, which was part of a staggering 28 points scored by Hampton in the final quarter alone. Earlier in the game, the Pirates had already established their dominance by scoring 21 points in the second quarter and continuing their offensive onslaught with a touchdown on their opening drive of the second half, establishing a solid lead of 31-14.

Hampton (4-3, 1-2 in the Coastal Athletic Association) also made headlines earlier this week by officially naming Trent Boykin as the full-time head coach, removing his interim status. Boykin has been with the Pirates since 2020, prior to which he was the running game coordinator at Akron from 2012 to 2018.

On the flip side, the Aggies struggled offensively, with quarterback Justin Fomby throwing two interceptions as North Carolina A&T fell to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
