NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday, Grant Jordan showcased his skills by throwing for one touchdown and running for another, while Da’Quan Gonzales made a significant impact with a 53-yard interception return for a touchdown, guiding Yale to a 38-23 victory over Lehigh.

Jordan completed 15 of his 26 passes for 107 yards, although he did throw one interception. Tre Peterson made a notable contribution on the ground, accumulating 98 rushing yards, including a key 57-yard dash that secured a touchdown and pushed Yale’s lead to 38-17 just before the end of the third quarter. Overall, the Bulldogs (3-2) dominated the rushing game, accumulating a total of 258 yards.

Lehigh started the game strong, kicking a field goal on their opening drive. However, Yale quickly bounced back when Aidan Singleton intercepted a pass from Jordan near midfield on the Bulldogs’ first offensive play. Jordan quickly regrouped, connecting with Joey Felton on a 20-yard pass. Following that, Gonzales seized an opportunity, intercepting another pass and sprinting down the left sideline to score, putting Yale ahead 14-3 by the end of the first quarter.

As the game progressed, Luke Yoder made an impressive 38-yard run for Lehigh, but Jordan countered with a 10-yard touchdown run of his own. Just before halftime, Josh Pitsenberger sealed the scoring for the half with a 1-yard touchdown run on a crucial fourth down, giving Yale a comfortable 28-10 lead.

Yoder had a standout performance for the Mountain Hawks (3-3), rushing for a total of 143 yards. However, the team struggled with their aerial attack, as their two quarterbacks combined for a mere 14 completions on 29 attempts, accompanied by three interceptions—two of which were picked off by Joshua Tarver.
