BetMGM reduces prop bets for NBA players on 10-day or two-way contracts

LAS VEGAS — In response to the permanent ban of Jontay Porter, a forward for the Toronto Raptors, BetMGM Sportsbook has decided to cease taking bets on NBA prop bets involving players on two-way or 10-day contracts.
This move aligns with similar actions taken by other sportsbooks, including FanDuel, DraftKings, and ESPN BET, as reported by various sources.

Porter’s ban was imposed on April 17 after an investigation by the league uncovered that he had shared confidential information with sports bettors and placed bets on games, including wagers on the Raptors losing.
At the time of his suspension, Porter was under a two-way contract, which allowed him to alternate between the Raptors and their G League affiliate.
His earnings on this contract totaled $410,000, far less than the average NBA contract, which typically exceeds $2 million.
