Boise State’s Jeanty Named Unanimous AP Midseason All-American, Colorado’s Hunter Excels in Dual Roles

Boise State’s running back Ashton Jeanty earned unanimous recognition, while Colorado’s multifaceted athlete Travis Hunter was named to two first-team slots in the midseason All-America team announced recently. The list highlighted standout players such as Miami’s Cam Ward, who was voted as the premier quarterback. The Southeastern Conference dominated the selections, claiming four out of five offensive line positions and seeing ten players from the preseason All-America first-team also make the midseason list.

The first team consists of nine athletes from the Southeastern Conference and six from the Big Ten. This composition was determined by a group of media representatives who vote weekly in the college football AP Top 25 poll. Jeanty has been exceptional this season, rushing for over 200 yards in three out of six games. His average of 208 yards per game and 9.9 yards per carry leads the nation, while he also holds the top spot with 17 rushing touchdowns.

In an impressive display of skill, Jeanty has accumulated 1,248 rushing yards, which is the most significant six-game total recorded since Garrett Wolfe from Northern Illinois registered 1,343 yards back in 2006. Meanwhile, Hunter has shown his versatility by participating in offense, defense, and special teams, playing up to 147 snaps in a single game as documented by Pro Football Focus. He leads Colorado in receiving with 46 catches totaling 587 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, he boasts two interceptions and three pass breakups, and his pivotal forced fumble in overtime helped clinch a victory over Baylor.

Leader in passing statistics, Cam Ward has an impressive completion rate of 69.8%, averaging 369.8 yards per game with 20 touchdown passes compared to just five interceptions. His standout performance came during a nail-biting 39-38 victory against California, where he threw for 437 yards and orchestrated an incredible comeback after trailing by 25 points in the third quarter.
