MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Lynx are aiming for a stronger start in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, which is set to take place on Wednesday evening.
Throughout the first two games of the series, the Lynx found themselves trailing for the majority of the time, only managing to hold the lead for just over three minutes combined. Despite being down by significant margins in both Game 1 and Game 2, Minnesota managed to return home with the series at a tie, thereby reclaiming home-court advantage.
The Lynx have set their sights on not traveling back to Brooklyn for a potential Game 5 this Sunday.
“We aren’t going back to New York,” commented guard Courtney Williams, beaming during the team’s shootaround on Wednesday morning.
To achieve this goal, they will need to secure victories in both Game 3 and Game 4 on Friday.
The viewership for Game 2 reached a remarkable 1.34 million, following 1.14 million fans who tuned in for the series opener, which the Lynx won in an overtime thriller.
