EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Once again, Aaron Rodgers showcased his remarkable skills on the football field.
In an electrifying moment during Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills, the New York Jets quarterback launched a stunning 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to Allen Lazard just as the first half came to a close.
Facing a 20-10 deficit and positioned at their 48-yard line, Rodgers maneuvered in the pocket, taking a few steps back before sending the ball soaring toward the end zone. Lazard, displaying impressive athleticism, reached over two Bills defenders to secure the catch and landed on his back in the end zone.
Following a brief discussion among the officials, the play was confirmed as a touchdown, leaving the Bills stunned and igniting a jubilant reaction from Jets fans. Rodgers celebrated by raising both arms in acknowledgment of the score while running back Breece Hall embraced him in excitement.
This marks Rodgers’ fourth successful Hail Mary pass throughout his career, adding to the three he completed during his time with the Green Bay Packers.
Notably, the football traveled an impressive 61.4 yards in the air, marking the longest completion recorded by a Jets quarterback since Next Gen Stats started tracking these metrics in 2016.
The spectacular play even caught the attention of Jets Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath, who expressed his enthusiasm on social media. “What a play!” Namath exclaimed on X. “Talk about making the team and fans feel better about going into the half.”
Rodgers’ ability to perform under pressure continues to impress, solidifying his reputation in the sport and thrilling fans across the league.
