SEOUL, South Korea — Recent observations indicate that North Korea may be taking steps to demolish the unused segments of inter-Korean roads.
South Korea’s military reported on Monday that they have detected activity related to preparations for demolition work.
However, the extent of the destruction planned by North Korea remains uncertain.

This development unfolds amid rising tensions, as North Korea has accused South Korea of deploying drones to release propaganda leaflets over Pyongyang on three separate occasions this month.
In response to these actions, North Korea has issued a warning, stating that it will retaliate with force if the situation continues.

Moreover, North Korea recently announced its decision to permanently seal its border with South Korea.
It plans to construct defensive structures along the front lines in order to counter what it calls the “confrontational hysteria” exhibited by South Korean and U.S. military forces.
