SAN MARCOS, Texas — In a dominant performance, Jordan McCloud led Texas State to a 41-9 victory against Arkansas State on Saturday, throwing for a total of 320 yards and four touchdowns.

After initially falling behind 3-0 from the Red Wolves’ opening drive, McCloud quickly put Texas State on the board with a 53-yard touchdown pass to Kole Wilson.

By the end of the first quarter, McCloud added to the lead by running for a 5-yard score, extending the advantage to 14-3.

He continued his impressive play with touchdown passes of 25 yards to Jaden Williams and additional scores of 30 and 8 yards to Joey Hobert, who concluded the game with 101 receiving yards from 10 receptions.

For the game, McCloud completed an impressive 24 of 29 attempts, showcasing accuracy and efficiency.

In the rushing department, Ismail Madhi had a standout performance, accumulating 164 yards on 17 carries.

On the other side of the field, Arkansas State’s Jaylen Raynor managed to throw for 207 yards, while Ja’Quez Cross had a notable game with 117 yards on nine carries.

Texas State, now at 4-2 in the season and 2-0 in the Sun Belt Conference, has shown resilience, winning six of its last eight games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Arkansas State holds a slim lead in the overall series between the two programs, currently leading 7-6.
