Cam Talbot records 41 saves in his 32nd career shutout as Red Wings defeat Predators 3-0.

In Detroit, Cam Talbot had an impressive debut for the Red Wings, stopping 41 shots and achieving his 32nd career shutout as he helped his team earn a 3-0 victory over the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.
J.T. Compher, Andrew Copp, and Dylan Larkin were the goal scorers for Detroit, who were looking to bounce back after their season opener loss of 6-3 against Pittsburgh on Thursday.
On the other side, Juuse Saros, who had missed the Predators’ opening game loss to Dallas, recorded 22 saves during this matchup.
Notably, Nashville forward Filip Forsberg participated in his 700th career game during this contest.

Talbot, who joined the Red Wings on a two-year contract as a free agent in the offseason, showcased his skills effectively, making 16 saves in the first period, followed by 12 in the second, and finishing with 13 in the third.
The Predators certainly put pressure on Talbot with a flurry of shots, yet they found themselves increasingly frustrated as they fell to 0-2 for the season.
This early-season struggle mirrors their performance from last year, where they lost three of their first four games.
Talbot, now 37 years old, is competing for the top goaltending position against Alex Lyon and Ville Husso, having taken over for Husso in the previous game after his teammate allowed four goals.

A pivotal moment in the game occurred when the Red Wings led 1-0 in the final minute of the second period.
Nashville was awarded a power play due to a tripping penalty on Moritz Seider, and as the clock wound down, Talbot made a sensational stop against a charging Jonathan Marchessault, preserving Detroit’s lead as the period ended.
In terms of defensive effort, the Red Wings demonstrated their commitment, blocking a remarkable 31 shots compared to just 12 by the Predators.

Looking ahead, the Predators will kick off a four-game homestand against the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday, while the Red Wings are set to face off against the New York Rangers on Monday.
