ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — On Saturday, the Denver Broncos executed several roster changes ahead of their upcoming matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. They activated running back Audric Estime and promoted defensive back Tanner McCalister. Additionally, wide receiver Josh Reynolds and center Luke Wattenberg were placed on injured reserve, while tackle Cam Fleming and guard Calvin Throckmorton were elevated for the game.
Reynolds, who is dealing with a hand injury, and Wattenberg, who has an ankle issue, sustained their injuries during last week’s victory against the Las Vegas Raiders. Furthermore, right tackle Alex Palczewski also suffered an ankle injury during that game. In response, the Broncos signed Fleming, a seasoned 12-year veteran who has participated in 26 games at tackle with the team over the past three seasons.
Estime, who was selected in the fifth round of the draft from Notre Dame in April, had to sit out four games after spraining his ankle during his second carry in the season opener. Last season, he achieved second-team All-American status, leading the Fighting Irish with 1,341 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns over the course of 12 games.
Throckmorton joined the Broncos as a free agent in the previous offseason, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his time with the Saints (2021-2022), Panthers (2023), and Titans (2023). Over the last season, he played in nine games, earning seven starting roles.
