CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday, Paxton DeLaurent delivered an impressive performance by tossing four touchdown passes, helping Southeast Missouri State secure a resounding 34-3 victory against Tennessee Tech.

Entering the game, DeLaurent was tied with Daniel Santacaterina, having thrown 46 career touchdown passes, a milestone achieved during the 2018 to 2019 seasons. The record-setting throw occurred late in the second quarter when DeLaurent connected with Tristan Smith for a 13-yard touchdown, giving the Redhawks a 10-0 lead.

DeLaurent ended the game with 418 passing yards, completing 34 out of 46 attempts, although he did throw two interceptions. His standout receivers included Smith, Cam Pedro, and Mitchell Sellers, who all caught six passes apiece, each recording a touchdown. Pedro led the group with 111 receiving yards, followed closely by Smith with 96 yards and Sellers contributing 67 yards. Dorian Anderson also made an impact with a touchdown catch.

For Tennessee Tech, quarterback Jordyn Potts struggled as he completed 26 out of 47 passes, totaling 231 yards and also throwing two interceptions. In a moment of hope for the Golden Eagles, Dom LeBlanc successfully kicked a 43-yard field goal, narrowing the gap to 10-3 midway through the third quarter. However, the momentum quickly shifted back to the Redhawks as DeLaurent connected with Pedro for a 46-yard touchdown pass, followed by a 31-yard touchdown to Sellers, effectively sealing the game for Southeast Missouri State.

With this victory, SEMO improved to 6-1 on the season and remains undefeated in the Big South-OVC Association at 3-0.
