NATCHITOCHES, La. — Ron Peace played a pivotal role in Texas A&M Commerce’s first victory of the season, leading the team to a 42-21 win against winless Northwestern State on Saturday.

Peace was instrumental in the game, throwing two touchdown passes to Christian Jourdain and making a remarkable 34-yard touchdown run. This helped the Lions establish a significant 28-7 lead midway through the third quarter. With just 1:54 left in the third, he extended the lead even further by connecting with Jordon Hamilton for a 22-yard touchdown pass, making it 35-7.

As for his performance, Peace completed 15 out of 21 passes for a total of 275 yards and added 31 yards rushing on four carry attempts. BK Jackson also contributed to the Lions’ success with a rushing touchdown, garnering 62 yards on the ground.

On the other side, Northwestern State’s Kennieth Lacy managed to score two touchdowns while rushing for 43 yards. Quarterback Abram Johnston had a challenging game, finishing 14 of 22 with 301 yards, but he also threw two interceptions. He did manage to connect on a 27-yard touchdown pass to Amaaz Eugene with just 16 seconds remaining in the match.
