In a thrilling showdown on Saturday, Rhode Island secured a 31-21 victory over Brown in their 108th meeting, with Devin Farrell showcasing his dual-threat ability by contributing both a passing and rushing touchdown.
Rhode Island, now boasting a record of 5-1, has successfully defeated the Bears in their last six encounters, establishing the longest winning streak in the history of the rivalry.
The game turned early in the fourth quarter when Brown attempted a fourth-and-1 conversion at the Rhode Island 34-yard line but failed, allowing the Rams to capitalize quickly. Deon Silas initiated the scoring with a 21-yard run, followed by Shawn Harris Jr. who dashed 45 yards for a touchdown, giving Rhode Island a lead of 24-21.
Farrell’s performance included important completions of 30 and 22 yards that set the stage for his 5-yard touchdown run. This significant nine-play drive covered 80 yards and consumed nearly six minutes of the clock, providing a much-needed buffer for the Rams.
