Coach McDermott of the Bills confirms defensive tackle Oliver won’t play against the Jets this Monday night.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver is set to miss another week due to a hamstring injury after head coach Sean McDermott announced on Saturday that he would not be playing in the Monday night matchup against the New York Jets.

McDermott expressed optimism that Oliver could make his return the following week when the Bills are scheduled to host the Tennessee Titans.

Regarding other important players on the injury report, McDermott indicated that wide receiver Khalil Shakir (right ankle), running back James Cook (toe), and nickel cornerback Taron Johnson (right forearm) are listed as questionable. Each is expected to participate in practice later today.

Shakir, who is currently the leading receiver for the Bills, has already missed one game this season, while Johnson has been sidelined since sustaining an injury in the first week.

In more positive news, McDermott mentioned that receivers Curtis Samuel (toe) and Mack Hollins (shoulder) are anticipated to take the field against the Jets, who hold a current record of 2-3.

The Bills, who lead the AFC East with a record of 3-2, are looking to break a two-game losing streak as they prepare to face their division rivals.
