The playoff was set up after Suwannapura eagled the par-5 18th hole in regulation, matching Li at 17-under 196. Li, who shot a remarkable 60 during the final round, also eagled the 18th hole.
Suwannapura’s stellar round included a bogey-free 10-under 61, with a particularly impressive back nine where she shot 7-under 28. Reflecting on her win, Suwannapura expressed her satisfaction with managing to stay calm and focused during the playoff against a tough opponent like Li. This victory marked her third LPGA Tour title, with previous wins at the 2018 Marathon Classic and the 2019 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, where she partnered with Cydney Clanton.
Despite falling short in the playoff, Li, a 21-year-old American, showcased her talent and resilience on the course. Notably, University of Arkansas sophomore Maria Marin made an impact in her first tour start, finishing tied for 17th at 10 under, leading the Razorbacks contingent in the field.
