Former Milwaukee Bucks player, Junior Bridgeman, who holds the team record for most games played and has his jersey retired at Fiserv Forum, has recently acquired a stake in the team. The Bucks made the announcement during a press conference attended by co-owner Jimmy Haslam, coach Doc Rivers, GM Jon Horst, and several current players. Bridgeman revealed that he now owns a 10% share of the team.
Bridgeman, 71, had a successful career with the Bucks from 1975-84 and a brief return in 1986-87, playing a total of 711 games for the franchise. His contributions place him third in the team’s history behind current stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. Additionally, he ranks in the top ten in several statistical categories, including field goals made, points scored, and minutes played.
Following his basketball career, Bridgeman ventured into entrepreneurship, focusing on investments in the restaurant industry. He eventually established Bridgeman Foods, which oversaw a significant number of Wendy’s and Chili’s restaurants across 20 states until 2016. Moreover, he has been involved as an independent Coca-Cola bottler and is part of the family that owns Ebony and Jet magazines.
As a new member of the Bucks ownership group, Bridgeman joins a team that includes Haslam, Wesley Edens, Jamie Dinan, and Mike Fascitelli. His investment marks a significant step in his continued involvement with the organization that played a crucial role in his professional career.
