In a dominant performance, Willy Adames of the Milwaukee Brewers achieved a significant milestone with his first 30-20 season in the team’s 7-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. Adames showcased his versatility by stealing second base following an infield single in the second inning, adding to his impressive stat line of 32 home runs and 20 stolen bases.

This achievement made Adames and his rookie teammate Jackson Chourio the first pair of Brewers players to accomplish a 20-20 season in the same year, with Chourio boasting 21 home runs and 21 stolen bases.

Pitcher Hoby Milner secured the win (5-1) with a flawless fifth inning in relief of Tobias Myers, who allowed two runs and six hits in the first four innings of the game.

Adames kickstarted a scoring spree in the second inning, where four consecutive batters reached safely against Pirates’ pitcher Bailey Falter (8-9). This offensive outburst included an RBI double from Sal Frelick and a two-run single by Joey Ortiz, propelling the Brewers to a commanding lead.

The Pirates responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning, courtesy of hits from Jared Triolo and Bryan De La Cruz. However, Milwaukee’s offense continued to shine as Adames led off the fourth with a double and orchestrated a run using his crafty baserunning skills.

Falter struggled on the mound, conceding four runs and five hits while striking out five batters over five innings of work. Pirates reliever Isaac Mattson faced difficulties in the seventh inning, walking Adames and Rhys Hoskins with the bases loaded before being replaced.

In roster updates, the Pirates designated 1B Rowdy Tellez and OF Michael A. Taylor for assignment, while recalling OF Joshua Palacios and INF Liover Peguero from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Looking ahead, RHP Luis Ortiz will take the mound for the Pirates, facing off against Brewers RHP Freddy Peralta in the next game of the three-game series on Wednesday. This sets the stage for another exciting matchup between the two teams as the season enters its final stretch.
