In McBee, South Carolina, state police have located the individual who shot and injured a police officer during a routine traffic stop. Although the State Law Enforcement Division provided details about the 27-year-old suspect and his vehicle, it was not confirmed whether he has been taken into custody or charged with a crime. The McBee Police Chief, Tim Knight, mentioned that the officer was shot more than 60 times, with three bullets striking him. Fortunately, the officer has been treated and released from the hospital, according to McBee Mayor Glenn Odom.
Odom expressed, “He’s home resting. He’s got to have some surgery on his forearm where the bullet lodged. But, other than that he appears to be ok. It’s a miracle sent to us by the Lord.” Following an extensive search, the suspect was apprehended in Darlington County the morning after the incident, following the issuance of a “Blue Alert” by state police to inform the public about a dangerous individual who has harmed or taken a police officer.
McBee, a small town with around 750 residents, is situated approximately 55 miles northeast of Columbia, South Carolina.
