Around 25 children and adults were injured in an accident that took place at a western Wisconsin apple orchard. The incident occurred when a wagon, carrying children, parents, and chaperones on a field trip, overturned at Lafayette orchard. According to Chippewa County Sheriff Travis Hakes, one of the two wagons being pulled by a tractor flipped sideways and rolled over during the low-speed descent. The tractor was navigating downhill when the accident happened causing injuries to both children and adults.
Among the injured, three individuals sustained critical injuries while five others were deemed to have serious injuries. The exact number of children injured in the incident was not disclosed by the authorities. The elementary school-age children, along with parents and chaperones, were visiting the orchard in Lafayette on a field trip from a school located in Eau Claire, which is situated northeast of Lafayette.
