Oregon State secures 38-15 win against Idaho State with strong running game

    Jam Griffin and Anthony Hankerson led the way for Oregon State’s ground game as they secured a 38-15 victory over Idaho State. Griffin, who returned to Oregon State after a season with Ole Miss, stood out with 160 yards and two touchdowns despite a first-quarter fumble. Hankerson also had a strong performance, rushing for 155 yards and two scores, contributing to the Beavers amassing 379 yards on the ground.

    Hankerson’s 6-yard touchdown run just before halftime gave Oregon State a 17-9 lead going into the break. Gevani McCoy connected with David Wells Jr. for a 55-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, extending the Beavers’ lead to 24-9. Griffin added another touchdown with a 22-yard run, making it 31-9. Idaho State managed to score a touchdown through a 9-yard pass from Hunter Hays to Michael Shulikov, reducing the lead to 31-15 by the end of the third quarter.

    Griffin sealed the victory for Oregon State with a 20-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Following the Pac-12 conference’s near-collapse in realignment, Oregon State and Washington State are the only remaining teams from the conference. Both teams will compete as associate members of the Mountain West Conference for the current season.
