Orlando City took the lead early in the game, with Iván Angulo scoring in the 10th minute after receiving a pass from Martin Ojeda in the box. Torres extended the lead four minutes later with his goal assisted by Dagur Thorhallsson. In the 85th minute, Torres found the back of the net again, scoring his 10th goal of the season with an assist from Duncan McGuire and Nicolás Lodeiro.
The Orlando City goalkeeper, Pedro Gallese, made two crucial saves to earn his fifth clean sheet of the season, while Nashville’s Joe Willis recorded four saves during the match.
The victory marked Orlando City’s fifth consecutive win against Nashville, with a total scoreline of 9-0 in favor of Orlando City during this streak. The result also saw new Nashville manager B.J. Callaghan take charge after the defeat.
Both teams will return to action soon, with Nashville facing Atlanta United on September 14, and Orlando City hosting the New England Revolution on the same day.
