A man suspected of being involved in a deadly shooting in Tennessee was apprehended by authorities after a rather unconventional turn of events. Deario Wilkerson, age 20, was taken into custody on Monday in Memphis by a U.S. Marshals Service task force that specializes in locating fugitives in West Tennessee. Wilkerson had been accused of first-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon in connection to the fatal shooting of Troy Cunningham in Memphis on April 2, according to a news release from the Marshals Service.
The task force had managed to trace Wilkerson to a residence in Memphis and subsequently surrounded the property. Wilkerson, who had been hiding in the attic, was ultimately arrested after he unexpectedly fell through the ceiling, stated the Marshals Service. Fortunately, he did not sustain any injuries during this event.
As of now, there is no information available from online court records regarding whether Wilkerson has legal representation to address the charges made against him.
