Excitement is building up in Naples as Romelu Lukaku and Antonio Conte reunite their winning partnership. Lukaku, a Chelsea forward, arrived in Naples to finalize his transfer to Napoli, where over 100 fans greeted him at the club’s clinic for his medical. The crowd chanted his name, and Lukaku stopped to help a fan who had fallen to the ground, much to the supporter’s delight.

Reports from Italian media suggest that Lukaku will sign a three-year contract with Napoli, with the Serie A club paying Chelsea 30 million euros ($33 million) plus 30% of any future transfer fee. Lukaku had his most successful seasons under Conte at Inter.

The 31-year-old Lukaku had been training separately from the main Chelsea squad as the club tried to sell him. Chelsea purchased Lukaku from Inter after his loan spells at Inter Milan and Roma. Lukaku joined Inter shortly before helping them secure the Serie A title as the team’s top scorer with 24 league goals.

Conte and Lukaku left Inter around the same time. Conte returned to Italy two months ago to lead Napoli after a turbulent season that saw three different coaches at the helm. Napoli, under Conte, lost their first league match 3-0 but bounced back with a 3-0 win in the second game – their first Serie A victory since April.

After finishing in 10th place and missing out on European competition last season, Napoli aims to recover under Conte’s leadership, following their Serie A title win a year prior, which marked the club’s first title since Diego Maradona’s time at Napoli.
