Three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs has purchased a stake in a racehorse named Swift Delivery. The ownership acquisition was announced by Barry Irwin, the founder and CEO of Team Valor International, revealing that Kelce and the Zoldan family are now significant shareholders of the 3-year-old gelding.

Kelce, who is in a relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, has attended several of her concerts and has seen her show support by being present at many of his NFL games. Irwin stated that the introduction to Kelce happened at the Kentucky Derby, where they discussed their shared interest in horses. The horse’s name, Swift Delivery, was said to be a coincidence and not related to Taylor Swift.

The horse, which has recently won its last two races at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, initially struggled in its first six races. Trainer Mark Casse shared his excitement for Swift Delivery’s future potential, stating that the horse has shown significant improvement and could achieve great success.

Swift Delivery, ridden by jockey Patrick Husbands, is scheduled to compete in a 1-mile race at Woodbine for its next start. Despite initial plans to enter a more lucrative race at Kentucky Downs, the decision was made to follow a different path for the horse’s development.

Kelce joins the ranks of other professional athletes like retired World Series champion Jayson Werth and NHL player Erik Johnson, who have ventured into horse racing in an ownership role, showcasing their passion for the sport.
