Summer Yates helps Pride extend unbeaten streak to 18 games in NWSL

    The Orlando Pride maintained their unbeaten streak by defeating the Houston Dash 1-0 on Friday night in the National Women’s Soccer League. Summer Yates scored in the 67th minute, receiving a pass from Angelina to secure the victory, keeping the Pride at the top of the league with a record of 12-0-5. Houston Dash, with a record of 3-9-5, missed a chance to equalize when Andressa’s header hit the post. Goalkeeper Jane Campbell made seven saves for Houston during the match.

    In another NWSL game, the Utah Royals emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Bay FC. Paige Monaghan opened the scoring in the 49th minute, followed by Mina Tanaka doubling the lead eight minutes later off a deflection. Bay FC managed to score a goal in the 83rd minute through Racheal Kundananji’s header from a cross by Rachel Hill, but they were unable to level the score despite having 19 shots. With the win, the Royals, with a record of 3-11-3, have extended their undefeated streak to three games and have moved up from the bottom of the league standings.
