In Jerusalem, a zookeeper was attacked by a crocodile on Sunday, resulting in severe injuries to his upper body. The incident occurred at the city’s zoo, where a security guard intervened by firing stun bullets at the crocodile, potentially saving the zookeeper’s life. It is uncertain if the crocodile sustained any injuries during the encounter.
The 45-year-old zookeeper was promptly transported to Ein Kerem Hospital and underwent immediate surgery for his injuries. The zoo, which originally opened in 1939 as a petting zoo in the city center before relocating to southern Jerusalem in 1992, now houses a variety of species from different parts of the world, as well as an aquarium.
