Country musician Keith Urban surprised fans by giving a free concert in the parking lot of a major convenience store in Athens, Alabama. The impromptu concert took place at a Buc-ee’s location, known for its barbecue offerings, just a few hours after the announcement. The event drew a large crowd of hundreds of people who gathered for the unexpected show, located approximately 100 miles south of Nashville.
During the concert, Urban shared with the audience that he had visited the Buc-ee’s store about a month prior and thought it would be fun to perform there. He expressed that his spontaneous decision stemmed from his desire to set up a small stage for what he initially thought would be a modest audience of around 100 to 200 attendees, although the crowd turned out to be much larger than he anticipated.
Excitement for the concert began hours before the show, with people flocking to the venue to catch a glimpse of the country star. Fans expressed their surprise and delight at the unexpected event, with one individual mentioning hearing about the concert while at work and being thrilled to discover it was conveniently located on their route home.
Aside from his musical performance, Urban also took on a different role during his time at the store by assisting behind a food counter. A video captured him wearing a Buc-ee’s T-shirt and apron as he engaged in tasks such as pouring barbecue sauce on brisket and chopping the meat, showcasing his versatility beyond performing on stage.
