School psychologist in Florida faces charges for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse content

A school psychologist from South Florida, Robert Lee Turner, has been arrested and charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse images and videos. He was apprehended at his residence after a search conducted by officers, as stated in a Miami-Dade police report. Turner faces seven felony counts related to child sexual abuse material and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.

Miami-Dade school officials have taken swift action by terminating Turner’s employment and prohibiting him from seeking future opportunities within the district. In a statement, district officials expressed deep concern over the allegations, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards such behavior.

The investigation into Turner began following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in May. The center reported the uploading of two videos depicting child sexual abuse to an online platform. Subsequently, police traced the IP address and phone number linked to the account to Turner. Upon interrogation, Turner confessed to being the account owner, according to investigators.

Currently, Turner remains in custody. His legal representative has not responded to requests for comment from The Associated Press.
