Two-time Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons has reportedly agreed to a one-year, $8 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons, as per a source familiar with the deal. The agreement was reached on Thursday, although the team has yet to officially announce the signing.
Simmons’ signing comes as the Falcons have been actively working to bolster their defense, following their acquisition of four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Matthew Judon from the New England Patriots in exchange for a third-round pick.
Having spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos, the 30-year-old safety has had a successful tenure so far. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2023 and was named a second-team AP All-Pro four times in the last five years.
Throughout his career, Simmons has amassed 30 interceptions, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 4 1/2 sacks, showcasing his versatility and impact on the field.
