Following their time in Bogotá, they will travel to Cartagena and Cali, locations in the Caribbean and the Colombian Pacific, for further events throughout the weekend.
The visit will commence with a press conference led by Vice President Márquez, the first Black vice president of Colombia, where more information about the purpose of Harry and Meghan’s visit will be shared. Although it is unclear if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will speak during the conference. The couple is also set to visit a school in Bogotá to engage with students discussing the impact of the digital landscape on society.
One of the main highlights of their visit will be their participation in a forum organized by Colombia’s vice presidency in collaboration with Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation, focusing on promoting secure digital environments. The forum intends to address the critical need for responsible technological practices, especially in regions like the Global South, where the adverse effects of technology are more deeply felt.
