In Katy Perry’s latest music video for her song “Lifetimes,” she is depicted as a tourist enjoying the Balearic Islands in Spain. However, there are concerns regarding scenes filmed in the protected Ses Salines Natural Park on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. Perry is seen jumping and running across dunes in S’Espalmador, a restricted area within the park, which has caused controversy.
The regional government is looking into the video after it was revealed that the production company did not obtain the necessary permits for filming in the protected area. Although filming with permission could have been authorized without posing an environmental threat, the lack of permits has raised concerns.
The authorities have initiated preliminary investigations as the production company involved failed to apply for the required permissions for filming in the natural park. Neither the production company nor Katy Perry has commented on the issue.
Directed by Matías Vasquez, also known as Stillz, the music video showcases Perry engaging in various activities on the islands, known for their popularity among tourists, particularly during the summer season. Perry’s upcoming album, “143,” is scheduled for release on Sept. 20.
