Pakistan’s Test match against Bangladesh to be played without spectators due to ongoing stadium construction

The upcoming second cricket test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Karachi, scheduled to begin on August 30, will take place without any spectators in attendance. The decision was made by the Pakistan Cricket Board due to ongoing construction work at the National Bank Stadium. The renovation of the stadium commenced this month as part of the preparations for the Champions Trophy set to start on February 19 next year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has halted the sale of tickets for the Karachi test match immediately and announced that fans who have already purchased tickets will receive full refunds. Ensuring the health and safety of fans is stated as the top priority by the PCB. After evaluating all possible options, it was determined that holding the second test match behind closed doors is the safest course of action.
The cricket board aims to enhance the spectator experience at the stadium for the upcoming Champions Trophy, marking the first ICC event to be hosted in Pakistan since the 1996 World Cup. The first test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played in Rawalpindi, commencing on August 21.
