Kahleah Copper led the Phoenix Mercury to a 100-84 victory over the Dallas Wings with an impressive 32-point performance. This marks the seventh time this season that Copper has scored over 30 points, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Brittney Griner also added 23 points to Phoenix’s winning effort, bringing the team’s record to 12-10 for the season. This win marks the Mercury’s third consecutive series victory.
In the first half, Copper scored 18 points while Griner added 13, helping Phoenix secure a narrow 49-46 lead. Copper continued to dominate by scoring seven crucial points in the third quarter, contributing to the team’s 31 points in that period and helping them extend their lead. The Mercury has an undefeated record of 10-0 this season when leading into the fourth quarter.
Natasha Cloud contributed 14 points to the Mercury’s victory, with Mikiah Herbert Harrigan also making a season-high 12 points. Copper’s superb performance included shooting 12 of 19 from the field and making 7 of 9 free throws. Unfortunately, Diana Taurasi was sidelined for the second consecutive game due to a leg injury.
