A soldier from Fort Campbell, 23-year-old Pfc. Katia Duen?as Aguilar, was found dead in her home earlier this year near the Army post in Tennessee. The autopsy report revealed that Duen?as Aguilar had suffered nearly 70 stab wounds, with 68 wounds to her neck and upper body. The medical examiner’s office ruled her death as a homicide due to sharp force injuries to the neck. Despite the tragic circumstances, no arrests have been made in connection with her death as of now.

Originally from Mesquite, Texas, Duen?as Aguilar enlisted in the Army in 2018 and later moved to Fort Campbell on the border of Tennessee and Kentucky. She was serving as a member of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. Her family, along with The League of United Latin American Citizens, has offered a reward of $55,000 for any information that could lead to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Both Clarksville Police and Army criminal investigators are collaborating on the investigation, but there have been no breakthroughs in the case. In a news conference held in Texas back in May, Duen?as Aguilar’s family pleaded for justice, highlighting that she was a mother to a 4-year-old son. The community remains hopeful that answers will be found as authorities work diligently to solve the tragic death of the young soldier.
