German authorities apprehend an alleged stalker before Taylor Swift concert

German police have reported that they have captured a man suspected of stalking Taylor Swift just before her first performance of three in Gelsenkirchen. The authorities apprehended the man based on information provided by the event organizers. The man had allegedly issued threats against the pop star. No further details about the man or the situation were disclosed.

Police confirmed that the concert on Wednesday evening, attended by approximately 60,000 people, transpired without any incidents. Taylor Swift’s performances in Gelsenkirchen are part of her ongoing Eras Tour, with shows scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

In preparation for the concerts, Gelsenkirchen temporarily changed its name to “Swiftkirchen” and paid tribute to the singer by adding her to a “Walk of Fame” which honors local stars. Following Gelsenkirchen, Taylor Swift is set to perform in Hamburg and Munich in Germany as part of her tour.
