Freezing Temperatures Return Saturday Night Before Warm-Up

Freezing Conditions Expected as Clocks Spring Forward

Winter isn’t done yet. Saturday night will bring freezing temperatures. Daylight Saving Time begins overnight. That means later sunsets and one less hour of sleep. The cold sticks around for now, but warmer days are just ahead.

Overnight lows will drop into the upper 20s and low 30s across the state. Northeastern Minnesota could see temps in the low 20s. Snow will refreeze, creating slick spots on roads and sidewalks. Drive carefully. Watch for icy patches early Sunday morning.

Freezing Conditions Will Not Last as Warm Weather Moves In

Sunday will bring a big warm-up. Temperatures will push into the upper 50s. Some spots could hit 60 degrees. Snowpack will melt fast, making it feel more like April than early March.

Expect plenty of sunshine. A light breeze will make the air feel even warmer. Spring is slowly taking over. Enjoy the day, because it just keeps getting better from here.

Freezing Temperatures Give Way to Possible Record Highs

Monday could break records. Forecasts show highs in the mid-60s. The Minneapolis-St. Paul airport has a record of 62 degrees for March 10. The record for March 11 is 66 degrees. If temperatures rise just a bit more, those records could be history.

A cold front will move in Monday night into Tuesday. That brings temps back to the upper 30s and low 40s. But the cool-down won’t last long.

Freezing Conditions Gone as Warmth Quickly Returns

Wednesday and Thursday will see a rebound. Temperatures climb back into the 50s. By Friday, expect highs in the 60s, maybe even touching 70 degrees. That’s a taste of real spring weather.

Longer days and milder nights will make it feel like winter is finally gone. Get ready to ditch the heavy coats and swap them for light jackets.

Freezing Temperatures Lead to a Stormy End to the Week

Spring never arrives quietly in Minnesota. A storm system is moving in from the Rockies. Rain is expected by Friday into Saturday. Temperatures will stay warm, making thunderstorms likely.

Storms could bring heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. Stay updated. Weather changes fast this time of year.
