Outrage! Amazon under fire for selling fake ICE jackets to customers

Amazon has come under scrutiny for selling fake Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) jackets, which critics say are being used to intimidate immigrants. The jackets, sold by a company called Wild Bobby, have been spotted online and in public, raising concerns over their purpose and intent.

The Good Liars expose the controversy

The controversy gained traction after The Good Liars, a satirical project known for exposing political absurdities, posted footage of a man flaunting his ICE jacket as a scare tactic. The man in question, identified as Brandon Fellows—a convicted January 6 rioter—appeared proud of the jacket’s effect.

Social media reacts with outrage

Outrage erupted online as users questioned why Amazon would allow such a product on its platform. Critics slammed the company for profiting off an item they argue promotes fear and harassment. “What’s happened to people’s minds?” one post read. “Worms are eating through their cerebellum.”

Who is behind the jackets?

The jackets are sold by Wild Bobby, a brand owned by Leon Sakkal of Eatontown, New Jersey. While Sakkal has not publicly commented, social media users noted the irony of his apparent ties to Mexico, as seen in his Instagram posts.

Amazon has yet to respond

Amazon, which has faced criticism in the past for allowing controversial products on its platform, has yet to issue a statement regarding the ICE jackets. As backlash grows, many are calling for the retailer to remove the listing and reconsider its vetting process for potentially harmful merchandise.
