Sky vs. Fever: Reese, Clark Clash at United Center

CHICAGO — Basketball fans will have the opportunity to experience thrilling matchups in a new setting this season, as the Chicago Sky’s games against the Indiana Fever featuring standout players Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are being relocated. Originally scheduled for Wintrust Arena, these exciting WNBA games will now take place at the United Center.

This shift, announced by the Chicago Sky, allows the games to be held in a venue with greater seating capacity. The United Center, home to the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, can accommodate up to 20,917 fans, providing a larger stage than Wintrust Arena, which seats 10,387. Accordingly, Chicago will host these eagerly awaited games on June 7 and July 27, though the latter has been rescheduled from its initial date to accommodate the venue change. Remarkably, this move will mark the first time that WNBA games are hosted at the United Center.

Apart from their clashes in Chicago, the Sky and the Fever have scheduled three encounters in Indianapolis on May 17 for the season opener, followed by games on August 9 and September 5.

Last season, Caitlin Clark garnered significant attention as the Rookie of the Year, helping to boost both attendance and ratings for the WNBA. Her rivalry with Angel Reese has been a focal point since their college days back in 2023, when Reese’s LSU team claimed victory over Clark’s Iowa in the national championship.
