EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Jayland Randall made a significant impact in Southern Indiana’s matchup against SIU-Edwardsville, scoring 20 points to help secure an 82-68 victory on Saturday night.

Randall not only contributed on the scoreboard but also grabbed five rebounds, aiding the Screaming Eagles in improving their record to 10 wins and 18 losses, with a 5-13 standing in the Ohio Valley Conference. Jack Mielke also shone during the game, reaching a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while teammate Jack Campion added another 12 points to the total. This victory marked a notable turnaround, as it ended a rough seven-game losing streak for Southern Indiana.

On the opposing side, the Cougars from SIU-Edwardsville, who now hold a record of 19-10 and 12-6 in the conference, were led by Ray’Sean Taylor, who scored 18 points, while also contributing four assists and four steals. Ring Malith provided solid support with 13 points, six rebounds, and two blocks. Additionally, Brian Taylor II chipped in 12 points for the Cougars.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again this Thursday. Southern Indiana will travel to UT Martin, while SIU Edwardsville will host Southeast Missouri State.
