PHILADELPHIA — In a decisive victory, Saint Joseph’s secured a 78-62 win over Richmond on Saturday, propelled by Erik Reynolds II’s impressive performance, contributing 25 points to the Hawks’ effort.
Reynolds demonstrated remarkable shooting skills, hitting 9 of his 16 shot attempts, including an outstanding 7 of 12 from beyond the arc.
His teammate Rasheer Fleming also had a notable game, scoring 23 points with a shooting accuracy of 9 for 13, and he made 4 out of 8 attempts from three-point territory.
Xzayvier Brown added to the offense with 15 points, displaying efficiency with 5 of 10 from the field, complemented by a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line.
On the opposing side, Richmond’s Dusan Neskovic was the leading scorer, netting 14 points.
Mike Walz and Mikkel Tyne both contributed 13 points each, with Walz also dishing out five assists to aid the Spiders’ offense.
Saint Joseph’s took control of the game early, seizing the lead just over 18 minutes into the first half and holding onto it for the remainder of the match.
By halftime, the Hawks had extended their lead to 43-26, bolstered by Fleming, who tallied 13 points in the first half alone.
Although Richmond outscored Saint Joseph’s by a margin of one point in the second half, it wasn’t enough to alter the game’s outcome, as Reynolds led the Hawks with 12 points after the break, maintaining their robust advantage.
