CINCINNATI – In an impressive display of teamwork, both Zach Freemantle and Ryan Conwell contributed significantly to Xavier’s success, each scoring 14 points in the Musketeers’ victory over Butler, finishing the game 76-63 on Tuesday night.
Freemantle’s performance also included five rebounds and three steals, showcasing his defensive skills as well. Conwell achieved his points while shooting 6 for 13, connecting on 2 of 7 attempts from beyond the three-point line. Additionally, Dailyn Swain chipped in 13 points with a shooting line of 6 for 13 overall, including one successful three-point shot in three attempts.
On the other side, Jahmyl Telfort took charge for the Bulldogs, leading their scoring efforts with 20 points, complemented by seven rebounds and two steals. Both Finley Bizjack and Pierre Brooks contributed equally to the scoreboard, each finishing the game with 14 points.
Xavier carried a solid 48-31 lead into halftime, further strengthened by Marcus Foster, who added eight points before the break. The Musketeers continued to dominate in the second half, building their lead to 62-41, with an impressive 7-0 scoring streak that set the tone for the remainder of the game. Conwell emerged as the standout in the second half, scoring a team-high eight points.
Looking ahead, Xavier is set to compete against Seton Hall in an away game on Sunday, while Butler will face DePaul in their next matchup on Saturday.
