NEWARK, N.J. — Hilary Knight netted two goals, bringing her season total to eight, and Aerin Frankel recorded 35 saves as the Boston Fleet triumphed over the New York Sirens with a score of 4-1 on Monday. This victory marks Boston’s fourth consecutive win in their season face-offs against New York.

Boston’s record now stands at 6-3-2-6, and they have secured victories in four of their last five games. In contrast, New York, with a record of 4-3-2-8, has struggled, managing to score only six times over the last five matches.

Frankel, who had previously shut out the Sirens last week, has now achieved nine games with 25 saves or more this season, which ties her with Corinne Schroeder for the top spot in the league.

Alina Müller opened the scoring for Boston with her fourth goal of the season in the first period. After goaltender Kayle Osborne initially stopped Knight’s shot, Müller was quick to capitalize on the rebound during a power play. Notably, she had remained scoreless in the first eight games of the season but has since racked up 10 points in her last eight games, including an empty-net tally in a previous 4-2 victory over Minnesota.

In their encounters this season, Knight has assisted in every matchup against New York.

She extended Boston’s lead to 2-1 in the second period, skating past the defense to seize Müller’s pass off the boards for a successful breakaway after her defender fell.

Jamie Lee Rattray then increased Boston’s lead to 3-1 when her centering pass inadvertently deflected off Osborne’s skate and into the net. Knight later sealed the game with an empty-net goal with just over two minutes remaining.

New York managed to score early in the second period, with Jessie Eldridge converting a well-placed pass from Osborne, who recorded her first point in the league.

Overall, Boston has dominated the scoring against New York this season with a 15-5 advantage. The next matchup in the PWHL Takeover Tour will see Boston facing New York again in Buffalo this coming Sunday.
