Delta jet crashes, overturns at Toronto Pearson Airport

A Delta Airlines plane crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, leaving at least eight people injured.

Passengers Escape After Shocking Crash

The aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ-900 operated by Endeavor Air, was carrying about 80 passengers on a flight from Minneapolis to Toronto when it overturned upon landing.

According to Canadian authorities, one person sustained critical but non-life-threatening injuries, while seven others suffered minor injuries.

Emergency Crews Respond Quickly

Toronto Pearson Airport confirmed the incident in a statement on X, saying, “Emergency teams are responding.” Shocking images from the scene show the aircraft upside down on an ice-covered runway, with passengers evacuating onto the tarmac.

Emergency responders surrounded the plane and sprayed it with foam to prevent a potential fire.

High Winds Could Be a Factor

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash, but high winds in Toronto on Monday afternoon may have played a role. Aviation enthusiasts speculated that strong crosswinds could have flipped the jet.

Passenger John Nelson, who was on board, posted a video on Facebook moments after exiting the plane, saying, “We just landed. Our plane crashed—it’s upside down. Most people are going to be okay.”

Investigation Underway

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation, while the Association of Flight Attendants confirmed that their crew members were working the flight.

“Our union is responding to an incident in Toronto with Delta Air Lines Endeavor Flight 4819. Reports are there are no fatalities,” the AFA said in a statement, urging the public not to speculate as details emerge.

Delta has yet to release an official statement on the crash.

Emergency Crews Rush to the Scene

The aircraft, identified as Endeavor 4819 (N932XJ), was flying from Minneapolis-Saint Paul to Toronto when it suffered a crash landing, leaving the jet upside down on the runway.

Passengers Evacuated, Injury Count Unclear

Authorities confirm that numerous passengers were able to evacuate safely, though the exact number of injuries remains unknown. Emergency teams are actively securing the aircraft and assisting those affected as officials assess the situation.
