Hostage held since October 2023
Sasha Troufanov, an electrical engineer, was taken hostage during the brutal October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks in Israel. Along with his mother, grandmother, and girlfriend, he was abducted, but they were released in November. Troufanov’s father tragically lost his life in the attack.
Amazon’s silent efforts
For nearly a year and a half, Amazon kept quiet about Troufanov’s abduction. The company explained that its silence was out of concern for his safety. Fortunately, Hamas backed down, and the hostages were freed as planned.
