CEDAR CITY, Utah — In a thrilling match on Saturday night, Utah Valley emerged victorious with a close score of 70-68 against Southern Utah.

Carter Welling was a standout player for the Wolverines, scoring 17 points and adding nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks to his impressive performance. Alongside him, Tanner Toolson also posted 17 points, shooting well with a 6-for-11 field goal percentage, including making 3 of 7 attempts from three-point range. Dominick Nelson contributed 10 points, achieving a shooting percentage of 28.6% from the field and accumulating six successful free throws out of ten attempts.

On the other side, Dominique Ford was the top scorer for the Thunderbirds, putting up an impressive 28 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Tavi Jackson assisted in the effort with 16 points while Jamir Simpson contributed by scoring nine points and securing seven rebounds in addition to his five assists.

Both teams are set for their next challenges on Thursday; Utah Valley will travel to Utah Tech, and Southern Utah will face Abilene Christian in an away game.
