RIVERSIDE, California – In an intense matchup on Saturday evening, Dominique Daniels Jr. showcased his skills by netting 36 points, leading Cal Baptist to a narrow victory over Utah Tech with a score of 86-83.
Daniels not only shone as a scorer, but he also contributed significantly with five assists for the Lancers, who now boast a record of 13 wins and 12 losses, along with a 6-5 standing in the Western Athletic Conference.
Martel Williams provided key support with his performance, scoring 15 points after hitting 5 of 11 from the field and successfully converting 3 of 4 attempts from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Tylen Riley added 10 points to the scoreboard, going 3 for 6 on field goals and making 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.
On the other side, Madiba Owona led the scoring effort for the Trailblazers, finishing the game with 18 points. Utah Tech’s Justin Bieker chipped in with 15 points along with two steals, while Noa Gonsalves contributed 14 points and collected six rebounds. Unfortunately for the Trailblazers, this defeat marks their eighth consecutive loss.
Looking ahead, Cal Baptist is set to face Grand Canyon on the road next Saturday, while Utah Tech will take on Utah Valley at home on Thursday.
