CHENEY, Wash. — In an exhilarating game on Saturday night, Andrew Cook achieved a personal best by scoring 28 points, leading the Eastern Washington Eagles to a narrow victory over the Idaho Vandals with a final score of 75-73. Cook’s performance culminated in two crucial free throws with only seven seconds remaining, after he had tied the game with a powerful dunk just moments earlier.

Cook exhibited exceptional shooting skills, making 9 out of 12 attempts from the field and successfully converting all 10 of his free throw attempts for the Eagles, who now hold a record of 10-16 and a 6-7 standing in the Big Sky Conference. The turning point in the game came with 1:35 left on the clock, when Cook’s dunk followed closely after Mason Williams scored two free throws, closing the gap and reducing Idaho’s lead to just two points.

In addition to Cook’s standout performance, the Eagles found support from Sebastian Hartmann and Emmett Marquardt, who each added 11 points to the team’s total.

On the other hand, the Vandals, now with a record of 11-15 and also at 6-7 in the conference, were paced by Isaiah Brickner, who led the scoring with 17 points.
