A significant fire erupted at a renowned luxury hotel and restaurant in London, famous for attracting a multitude of celebrities, leading to the evacuation of roughly 100 individuals, according to fire officials.

More than a hundred firefighters, accompanied by 20 fire engines, battled the fire for several hours after it broke out at the Chiltern Firehouse located in the Marylebone area on Friday. The London Fire Brigade reported that the blaze severely impacted the historic establishment.

The structure, a distinctive red brick building that was formerly a fire station and dates back to the late 1800s, is a popular spot among high-profile figures, boasting frequent patrons such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Tom Cruise.

It was also anticipated that the hotel would host a Netflix event following the BAFTA awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries related to the incident, and the fire was brought under control later that evening.

According to the fire brigade, the fire started in the ducting on the ground level of the property before it spread upwards to the roof of the four-story building. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire crews faced tough conditions while working within the complex parameters of the old structure, but they effectively managed to contain the flames after several hours of effort. The owner of the Chiltern Firehouse, Andre Balazs, indicated that the venue would remain closed until further notice following the incident.
